Clinical studies evaluate investigational drugs to prevent, diagnose or treat disorders or diseases. Prior to their use, the methods or medications are extensively studied in the laboratory. Furthermore, all federally regulated clinical studies must be approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB), which has primary responsibility to the patient.
Our physicians offer clinical studies participant opportunities as a means of treatment that would not otherwise be available to them. Participation is entirely voluntary. Should you participate, most often all costs are covered, including physical examination, laboratory work, follow-up visits, and the study drug.
