For Immediate Release: Neurology & Neuroscience Associates and The University of Akron establish audiology services partnership AKRON, OH--Audiology services have been established onsite at Neurology and Neuroscience Associates in partnership with the University of Akron's graduate program in speech-language pathology and audiology.The affiliation gives NNA patients access to cutting-edge technology and techniques for diagnosing and treating hearing disorders. It will complement an existing partnership between the university and NNA that provides on-site speech therapy services associated with a wide range of neurological disorders. In addition to enhancing patient services, the partnership will enhance student education and encourage collaborative research. Sharon Lesner, Ph.D., coordinator of the audiology program at the university, will oversee the program. Audiology services also will be provided by Lisa Wodzisz, Au.D., who teaches and serves as a clinical preceptor at the university's audiology and speech center. The specialized services and testing equipment are being instituted in a phased-in process that began on March 13. The School of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology prepares audiologists and speech-language pathologists to help individuals achieve full communication potential. The Audiology and Speech Center provides education and training for undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the clinical training program and provides diagnostic and treatment services to persons with language, speech, and/or hearing problems. NNA provides compassionate care and quality service in the comprehensive diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of neurological conditions. Its team of physicians, nurse practitioners and technicians utilize the latest technologies and most advanced medical therapies at eight outpatient offices located in Akron, Brunswick, Green, Hudson, Medina, Massillon, Ravenna and West Akron, Ohio.
